Roll On Friday

Early in morning
The alarm sounds twice
So you belt it into silence
Before it wakes the house.
Fall down stairs
Leave the house still yawning
Bus it to the station
For another Monday morning

Early Tuesday morning
You awake at first alarm
But you catch another minute
It can't do any harm.
You finally awake
And curse the blasted dawn
Crawl off to the station
To find the last train's gone.

Early Wednesday morning
you wake up with a start
The clock flies out the window
As you rise up like a lark.
Rush into the kitchen
And grab a slice of toast
Mustn't miss the train today
Or before the boss you'll roast.

Early Pay-day morning
You wake up with a smile
The only day that getting up
seems any near worthwhile.
Walk to the station
Plenty of time
Sit and read the paper
Until the train arrives.

Early Friday morning
Up with the lark
Cuppa tea, Cornflakes
Twice around the park.
Feed the dog his breakfast
Then get washed and changed
Jog to the station
To catch an early train.
